Frank Anderson has been selected as Ice in Paradise's 2023 Volunteer of the Year.
Frank Anderson can be found volunteering at Ice in Paradise, on and off the ice. This year, Frank has spent countless hours documenting, fixing, and maintaining our lighting system for our events, as well as our audio systems. He has even fixed some of our house lights!
He's no stranger to volunteering at events as well, as we saw Frank throughout the year at various events like Sk8 to Eliminate Cancer on April 20th, where he emceed the entire skate, got many participants involved, and helped coordinate with the news. In May, he helped organize and judge at the ISI Competition and at Another Day in Paradise, held on September 16th, Frank also volunteered his time coaching beginner skaters that attended the event.
At the Lemon Festival at the end of September, Frank spent 10 hours volunteering at the Ice in Paradise booth, and he even assisted in tearing down and cleaning up! Recently, Frank's been volunteering his time mapping the lights for each show number and fixing the audio equipment and spotlights for our upcoming 2023 Holiday Show on December 16th.
Frank has been described by Ice in Paradise staff as "an outstanding volunteer" and "a rock star!" On top of his volunteerism, Frank is also the Club President of the Figure Skating Club. Ice in Paradise is a non-profit and relies on not only donations, but our wonderful volunteers who give their time to support the rink.
