Thank you, Steve Heinze

After 18 years of dedicated service to Ice in Paradise, Steve Heinze has decided to step down from his position as Board Member and President of the Greater Santa Barbara Ice Skating Association.

Steve has been around ice rinks indoors and out since he started skating in his backyard at the age of five in North Andover, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Boston College where he was an All American Ice Hockey player and has been elected to the BC Hall of Fame. Ice hockey has brought him around the world playing in the Olympics in 1992 and professionally for 12 NHL seasons.

Steve is currently head coach of the High School hockey team, the Santa Barbara Royals. He is active at all levels of ice hockey at Ice In Paradise and he will continue to remain a coach, player, patron, parent, and supporter of Ice In Paradise.

While Steve expressed that there is never a "good time" to step down, it felt to him like the "right time." He feels that Ice in Paradise currently has the best group of individuals we've ever had, from our Directors to our customer service representatives, and he's confident that they will be able to continue to lead the rink to grow into its full potential.

Thank you, Steve, for your dedication to the ice and to this community. We have all been extremely lucky to have had such support from you.
