A Lookback on a Year of Celebration
On Saturday, October 11, 2025, we hosted an extra-special version of our annual event, Another Day in Paradise. It didn't just showcase the programs and services that Ice in Paradise has to offer; it also served as the launch of our Year of Celebration to commemorate our 10 Year Anniversary. Ice in Paradise first opened its doors to the public on October 10, 2015, and over this past year we've looked back at our accomplishments and also recognized those that supported Ice in Paradise over the last decade.
In October, we placed the Who We Are case in the front lobby, showcasing our initial milestones that became pivotal moments in our 10 years of history. We also hosted a Ribbon Cutting event, where we reflected on the impact of serving our community with members of our community present, including board members, past and present, skaters, sponsors, staff, and representatives from the South Coast Chamber of Commerce.
Living our Vision of becoming a greater resource for everyone in our community, we continued to partner with like-minded organizations like the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, Toys for Tots, Vitalant, and, for the month of November, we supported the Foodbank of Santa Barbara, as well as raising money for Mothers' Helpers in May.
In our monthly newsletters, we highlighted memorable past events in our history, such as hosting the US Men's Sled Hockey Team in March of 2017 and the US Women's Sled Hockey Team in March of 2023. We shared the significance of our own hosted events — like the Annual Presidents' Day Tournament — and we also highlighted different groups, like the Santa Barbara Ice Hawks; the Santa Barbara Royals; the UCSB Ice Hockey team; the American Riviera Figure Skating Club; and The Santa Barbara Boyz, all of whom call Ice in Paradise home.
We are so fortunate to have had a community that has supported Ice in Paradise over the last decade. The first 10 years have only been the beginning, and we hope you can continue supporting us as we continue to develop and grow our programs and offerings. Here's to many more years in paradise!
