ICE IN PARADISE CELEBRATES 10 YEARS
On October 10, 2015, Ice in Paradise opened its doors to the people of Goleta and the cities beyond, and what started as a dream of building a rink for our community, became a reality. Over the next ten years, Ice in Paradise has continued to grow its offerings and this year, we are happy to be celebrating our 10th Anniversary. Join us as we celebrate our 10th Year with a year of events starting Saturday, October 11, 2025 with a special Another Day in Paradise.
STATEMENT FROM OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
On October 10, 2015, Ice in Paradise opened its doors to the people of Goleta and the greater Santa
Barbara community. With the support of those community members, what started as a dream of
building a rink to provide a space for a wide variety of recreational ice-skating programs for all members
of our community to enjoy, was realized.
This year, we are happy to be celebrating our 10th Anniversary. We have become a magnet for youth and
adult hockey and other skating programs and we have endeavored to become a vital part of the
community: we were able to remain open during and after the pandemic, we have continued to make
improvements to our facilities, like our recent renovations to the Rinkside Café, and we have successfully
launched new programs, such as the STEM Field Trip, and our Success Center.
In the next 10 years, we want to continue striving to be more deeply involved in the greater Santa
Barbara community. We are committed to welcoming anyone who wants to try any of our program
offerings regardless of their background by continuing to be accessible and affordable. We want to
become a more vibrant part of the community over the next 10 years.
With great sincerity, we want to thank everyone who has gotten us here and we hope to have everyone's
support for the future to come.

10 YEAR CAMPAIGN INITIATIVES
Ice in Paradise is a 503c non-profit organization, and when we finally opened to the public 10 years ago, we were only able to do so with the support of the many generous contributions and from our community members. Each year since we've opened, we've relied on not only on rink user fees, but also annual donations, grants, sponsorships, and continued community support.
We want to continue to be a community resource that we sought out to be when we first dreamed of opening a rink in the Santa Barbara area. Please consider supporting us, all donations go back into ensuring Ice in Paradise can continue to provide the programs and services we all have come to love and enjoy.

"We feel incredibly fortunate to have Ice in Paradise in our community!! It has been an enormous gift to our daughter, who started figure skating after the pandemic and has not stopped. She has a fantastically gifted coach and an immensely supportive figure skating community, and we're so grateful. The rink is a gift to our family, neighborhood, and community."

"I started skating because of a music video - the song Heat Wave by Snail Mail! I thought it looked cool. That was three years ago, and I've grown up a lot since then. Hockey gives me something to look forward to and helps me try to be a better person. I keep skating because of the people."
