Sliding into MOXI’s Seaside Sock Skating!

As we continue sharing the ways Ice in Paradise connects with our local community, we’re excited to highlight our partnership with MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation on their seasonal Seaside Sock Skating exhibit — a playful, hands-on way for families to glide, explore, and learn together.

A Great Opening Morning

The exhibit opened on November 22 with a lively morning full of sock-skating fun. Our team joined the festivities and led a physics of friction and pucks mini-demonstration, showing how surfaces, momentum, and movement work both on the rooftop rink and on the ice. Kids asked great questions, tested out what they learned, and (of course) did plenty of sliding.

It was a wonderful start to the season and a natural fit for the kind of community engagement we’re excited to highlight.

Why We Love Supporting Sock Skating

• It’s movement-based learning: MOXI’s hands-on, curiosity-driven approach mirrors what we love about skating — experimenting, trying again, and discovering confidence through motion.

Also Coming Up: Noon Year’s Eve

In addition to sponsoring Seaside Sock Skating, Ice in Paradise will also be a sponsor of MOXI’s Noon Year’s Eve celebration on December 31, 2025. It’s a fun, family-friendly way to ring in the new year early, with activities throughout the museum including — naturally — a chance to try sock skating during the event.
