A WORD FROM OUR BOARD, PAST AND PRESENT
"I grew up across the street from an ice rink and skated there nearly every day during the winter in a small prairie town near Edmonton, Alberta. Every town has an ice rink as it is part of their culture. The friendly skating and hockey rivalry between communities resulted in strong competition, hard work, dedication, and comradery that prepares every skater with positive life skills that benefit all.

I believe an ice rink in a beach town can achieve similar results because nothing replaces the cold air on your face, and cheering on your local athletes in a first class facility for sport and recreation. I encourage everyone to either try skating or watch skating and/or hockey. It will build pride, is contagious, and will enhance our community spirit."
