This past weekend marked an exciting milestone for five Ice in Paradise skaters who earned the honor of competing at the 14th Annual Southern California Interclub Invitational Series Final. Held September 27–28 at LA Kings Iceland at Paramount, the event brought together the region’s top performers for a season-ending championship that celebrates consistency, growth, and excellence in figure skating.
Earlier this month, Ice in Paradise proudly announced that Sophia Berar, Winter Do, Caleb Flannagan, Sadie Heinze, and Amelia McCarthy had qualified for the prestigious event — a testament to their dedication and performance throughout the yearlong SCICA Invitational Series. This United States Figure Skating (USFS)–sanctioned competition circuit spans Southern California, with skaters earning points at designated events in hopes of securing a place in the finals.

Now that the season has wrapped, we are thrilled to share the outstanding final results from the championship weekend:
Skater Highlights:
Caleb Flannagan – 1st in the Region, Pre-Preliminary Boys
Sadie Heinze – 1st in the Region, Excel Juvenile Girls
Winter Do – 2nd in the Region, Excel Preliminary Plus
Amelia McCarthy – 8th in the Region, Preliminary Girls
All four skaters who competed demonstrated not only technical skill but also remarkable perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication. Their results reflect a season of hard work, and Ice in Paradise, along with the American Riviera Figure Skating Club, could not be prouder.

While Sophia Berar was unable to compete at the final event, her qualification remains an important achievement and part of the strong showing from Goleta's figure skating community this year.
Congratulations to all of our skaters on a fantastic season!
