The Geri Hat Tricks Reunion Was One for the Books

On Saturday, September 27, the Geri Hat Tricks — one of the original teams from the Adult Hockey League’s Over-40 Division — returned to the rink for an alumni scrimmage nearly a decade in the making.

The Hat Tricks were formed in 2015, the same year our rink opened its doors. As one of the first teams to hit the ice in the Over-40 Division, they helped shape what would become a thriving adult hockey community. Over the next eight seasons, they showed up with consistency, character, and a roster that grew to include more than 50 players.

This weekend, 27 of those players came back to lace up and reconnect. A few traveled in from states as far as Colorado and Washington to take the ice with their former teammates. The game itself was lighthearted, but the effort was real — the kind of skate that reminded everyone why they loved playing in the first place.

The scrimmage wasn’t just a reunion — it was a full-circle moment during our rink’s 10-year anniversary season. A team that started with us from day one came back to celebrate the same way they started: together, on the ice.
Big thanks to the Geri Hat Tricks for showing up, showing out, and reminding us what this place is really all about.
